The History of Cherry & Associates
Cherry & Associates was founded in 1994 by Joseph J. Cherry after he spent nearly eight years as vice president of CB Commercial Real Estate Group. In the years since, Cherry & Associates has established a reputation for thoroughness, accuracy and customer service that has attracted a large and growing list of clients including Coca Cola, Heinz Corporation, Equitable Insurance, Thomas Nelson Publishing, O'Charley's, Cracker Barrel, Viacom Corporation, Ruby Tuesday Restaurants, Longhorn Steakhouse, and Bridgestone/Firestone. We're extremely proud of our high customer retention rate.

Charles P. Vaughn, Jr.
Principal
Charles Vaughn is a former corporate real estate executive who became a commercial
real estate broker and developer. He is a native of Nashville, Tennessee, is married,
and has four daughters.
Today, Mr. Vaughn is engaged in commercial real estate tenant-rep brokerage services
for clients such as Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, Inc.; O'Charley's, Inc.; Noodles
and Company, Inc.; Captain D's, Inc.; HH Gregg, Inc.; as well as numerous other local
and regional retail businesses. He is also actively involved in the development and
ownership of numerous retail projects for companies like Starbucks, Inc.; Fazoli's; Old
National Bank, Inc.; Verizon Wireless and Dunkin Brands, Inc.
Mr. Vaughn began his career in commercial real estate with Shoney's Inc. in 1982.
He held numerous positions with Shoney's, Inc., in a career that spanned more than 15
years. He resigned from Shoney's, Inc. in 1997 and at that time was the Executive Vice
President of Real Estate Development and Franchise Administration. He was actively
engaged in the development of several hundred restaurants under five separate brands in
more than 30 states.
Upon leaving Shoney's, Inc. in 1997, Mr. Vaughn immediately joined Joe Cherry, the
founder of Cherry and Associates, as a full partner. Mr. Vaughn acquired most of Mr.
Cherry's interest in the company in 2000, and he and his family continue to maintain
majority ownership of the firm.
Mr. Vaughn's strengths are found in his ability to build and direct teams from various
disciplines throughout the entire real estate brokerage and development processes.
He possesses a deep understanding of site evaluation/selection, sales and leasing
transactions, contract/lease negotiation, permitting, finance, and construction
management.
Mr. Vaughn is affiliated with the International Council of Shopping Centers, the
International Tenant Representative Alliance, the Middle Tennessee Alliance of
Professionals, and various charitable organizations throughout the greater Nashville area.
He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from Middle Tennessee State

Mylinda J. Vick
Principal
Mylinda Vick has spent 15 years working in corporate real estate. As a principal of Cherry &
Associates, LLC, which was established in July, 1994, as an exclusive tenant/buyer representation firm,
Mylinda is a seasoned veteran of Tenant/Buyer transactions, having completed over $300M in total
transaction volume.
Prior to becoming a Principal in Cherry & Associates, LLC, Mylinda was the Executive Assistant and
Assistant Secretary for McDevitt Street Bovis, which is now Bovis Lend Lease, a worldwide commercial
construction company. During her tenure, she handled Human Resources for the Nashville office, lease
negotiations and obligations for the office, was a project assistant for hospital construction projects
throughout the United States, and served as an officer of the company, as well as working on many
committees to implement new and innovative ideas.
Mylinda has been recognized by CoStar Realty Group as a "Top Power Broker" for multiple years, and has
regularly been featured in the Nashville Business Journal and received the designation of Top Brokers
published by the Nashville Business Journal. The City Paper featured Mylinda as one of the "Top Ten" People to Watch.
Mylinda has received the Middle Tennessee Office Lease of the Year Award on two separate occasions for office
lease transactions totaling over 300,000 sf. She has been the featured speaker at the Nashville Economic Forum
on several occasions to discuss the Nashville Office market. She is a frequent presenter at the
International Tenant Representation Alliance (ITRA).
Mylinda has represented many corporate clients, including: Bridgestone; CMT/Viacom Corporation; Baker Donelson
Bearman Caldwell & Berkowitz; Mars Petcare, Inc.; Thomas Nelson Publishing; Coca Cola; Cricket Communications;
Cisco Systems; Century II Staffing; and Verizon, to reference a few.
Mylinda has been involved in the following organizations: currently serving on the Board of Directors for
International Tenant Representation Alliance (ITRA), Total Quality Management; chaired Economic Forum Committee;
chaired Athena Nominee Luncheon Committee; served as President of Commercial Real Estate Women in Nashville, TN;
served as Secretary of the local CCIM Chapter; nominated for the NBJ's Women of Influence Award; has been a Sunday
School Teacher for youth and teens; and served on various building committees.
Mylinda is a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) since 2002. CCIM is recognized expert in the
disciplines of commercial and investment real estate. She is the Principal Broker for her firm and participates in
ongoing education classes.

Graves C. Stubblefield, III
Principal
At Cherry & Associates Gray specializes in retail tenant representation. Gray focuses on providing extensive market knowledge in every aspect of the transaction throughout most of the Southeast for clients such as Darden Restaurants, Inc.; Ruby Tuesday, Inc.; Taco Mamacitas; Golden Rule Barbecue; Pie in the Sky Pizza; as well as other local and regional retail businesses.
Gray began his career in the commercial real estate business in 1999 with Cherry & Associates. By 2004, he had earned the right to become a partner within the firm. Prior to joining Cherry & Associates, Gray was a sales representative for Southeastern Telecom.
Gray is member of the International Council of Shopping Centers and the International Tenant Representative Alliance. Gray holds a Bachelor of Business Administration Degree with an emphasis on marketing from Mississippi State University.

Blake R. Newton, CCIM
Affiliate Broker
Blake is a member of the Cherry & Associates office division specializing in tenant and buyer representation. He focuses on adding value for his clients by providing in-depth market knowledge and lease/acquisition analysis. He received his CCIM designation in the fall of 2008 and was one of the youngest designees in the country. Blake is currently a member of the Middle Tennessee chapter of CCIM and NAIOP.
Prior to starting his commercial real estate career, Blake graduated from DePauw University with a degree in Economics and Management. A partial list of Blake's clients served includes Mars Petcare, Thomas Nelson Publishing, Children's Hope International, Farmers Insurance, Eastern Insurance, Continuum Healthcare, Lincoln Electric, TN Family Physicians, Quantum Recovery Group, Healthcare Horizons, Ambest, Brentwood Communications, Specific Software Solutions, Swiftwick, Regency Finance, QSource, Paragon Rehabilitation, Nationwide Insurance, and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. |

Jim Jacobs
Affiliate Broker
Jim is a graduate of The University of Mississippi where he majored in Managerial Finance,
Insurance, and Real Estate. He also holds an MBA from The University of Mississippi. Prior
to joining Cherry & Associates, Jim was a Management Associate in the Commercial
Lending department of Regions Bank where he managed a $75 million debt portfolio. Jim
joined Cherry & Associates in 2006 and specializes in retail tenant representation. He is
a candidate for the CCIM designation,a member of The Middle TN CCIM Chapter, and a
member of The International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC). |

Les Lockhart, Affiliate Broker
Affiliate Broker
Les Lockhart has been involved in the Commercial Real Estate and Development business for the last 28 years, specializing in restaurant real estate for most of his career. His vast knowledge of local and regional real estate is a result of his corporate-level experience, with an expertise in site selection, development, and contract negotiations.
Starting out as a Real Estate Manager for Bojangles' restaurants in 1982, Lockhart then joined the real estate group for Shoney's Inc. in 1983, where he served for seven years. In 1990, he was named Vice President of Real Estate Development for TPI Restaurants, Inc. – the largest franchisee of Shoney's Inc., with more than 200 Shoney's and Captain D's restaurants.
Following his five-year stint at TPI, Lockhart became Vice President of Real Estate Development for O'Charley's, Inc. Over the next 10 years, Lockhart grew the O'Charley's concept from 48 stores to 230 in 17 states and was involved in the acquisition and initial growth of the company's Stoney River Legendary Steaks concept.
Following his corporate restaurant career, Lockhart joined Newton, Oldacre and McDonald in 2006 to market and sell their peripheral shopping center properties, as well as NOM's numerous raw land tracts.
Lockhart joined Cherry & Associates as an Affiliate Broker in 2008, representing several regional and national restaurant chains and retail companies.
A graduate of Florence State University, Lockhart received his Bachelor of Science degree in history. His numerous professional and civic affiliations include the International Council of Shopping Centers, the Peripheral Land Group, and is a long-time volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America. Lockhart lives in Brentwood with his wife and two sons.
